Plenum Heaters
One of the most popular off-peak or supplementary electric heating systems is the electric plenum. These can be easily added to your existing gas or oil forced-air heating ducted system. Plenum heaters work by utilizing the fan in your home’s furnace to move air across the heating elements in the plenum, in turn heating your home.
Both your fossil fuel furnace and your electric plenum heater will use your home’s existing duct work and thermostat. By turning your existing fossil fuel furnace into a dual-fuel heating system, you are able to take advantage of whatever heating source is the most efficient.
